We are an independent  Athens based practice that researches the concept of ''Death'' in Architecture theory and design. Also we research the relationship between Death and Architecture as well as the contribution of architecture to alternative forms of burial. Our logo represents our philosophy. The square symbol represents structure, balance, logic, and law and order. It represents the laws of nature that exist in the physical realm and how those laws give us sense of predictability and security. The square is associated with the number 4,and relates to the four elements of the physical world: earth, air, water and fire. In medieval depictions of the square, it was almost always connected to the human body, representing “man” and the physical elements of our being. In artistic representations of our human nature, the square, triangle, and circle usually appear, bringing a symphony of shapes that represent body, soul, and spirit: the square being the body. The line represents the principle of duality, or the law of opposites. It is a motion that runs in two opposing directions, vertical and horizontal, as well as left and right. The vertical line symbolically represents spirit descending into matter, also known as the path of forthcoming.

DE|ATH|FORMING SINCE 2020

Adolf Loss

“If we find a mound six feet long and three feet wide in the forests, formed into a pyramid, shaped by a shovel, we become serious and something says, "someone lies here"...Now that is architecture"
