MEET THE TEAM

GALINI NIKOLAIDI

Galini Nikolaidi was born in Athens and studied at the School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete. During her studies she was particularly involved in the subject of urban design, landscape architecture and the restoration of historical monuments and ensembles. At the same time, her interest in public space led to her participation in various workshops in Greece (Coastal Threshold Workshop) and abroad (WAVE IUAV University, Venice), on topics that explore the urban web, its mapping methods and the relationship of historic cities with public space. She has also participated in architectural competitions in Greece (3rd prize in the student architectural competition "Two squares in Apokorronas") and abroad (Pandemic Architecture Competition, Non architecture competitions,Micro Housing Competition by Impact). In addition, her work entitled "Urban interventions in the Old Town of Chania" participated in 2018 in the Inherit exhibition to celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage at the Center for Mediterranean Architecture in Chania. The theoretical understanding of the social and cultural condition of death and the critical analysis of important burial sites in modern Europe have been the subject of study in her research and dissertation. In 2018 she worked in the office of Michalis Giannakakis Insite Architects Lab in Chania with the main occupation of designing private houses, summer accommodation and interior design. In 2021 she became a member of the architectural firm Dionysios Bonikos Arch + Design Studio.

GEORGIOS DIONYSIOS LOUNTZIS

George D. Lountzis was born in Zakynthos and studied at the School of Architecture of the Technical University of  Crete. During his studies he was particularly interested in the subject of urban design, landscape architecture and the restoration of historical monuments and ensembles. At the same time, his interest in the public space, led to the participation in various workshops in Greece (Coastal Threshold Workshop) and abroad, specifically in Venice (WAVE University IUAV), on issues related to the investigation of the urban fabric and its mapping methods. but also the relationship of historic cities with public space. He has also participated in architectural competitions in Greece (3rd prize in the student architectural competition "Two squares in Apokorronas") and abroad (Pandemic Architecture Competition, Non architecture competitions,Micro Housing Competition by Impact). In addition, his work entitled "Urban interventions in the Old Town of Chania" participated in 2018 in the Inherit exhibition to celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage at the Center for Mediterranean Architecture in Chania. In 2018 he worked in architectural offices in Chania with the main occupation of designing private houses, summer accommodation and restoration of houses in the Old Town of Chania. Specifically, he worked in the offices of Ioannis K. Verikakis and Aristomenis and George Varoudakis. In 2020 he became a member of the architectural firm Dionysios Bonikos Arch + Design Studio. Also he is a poet and he published his first poetry book in 2021 called "Ypoglosia Mnimi".
